Fishing, picnicking, camping, and hiking are among many activities to enjoy at Malakoff Diggins. Tours of historic North Bloomfield are offered daily during the summer. Chute Hill campground is open from April 15th – November 1st, and the Miner’s Cabins in North Bloomfield are available year-round.
Cool off with a dip in the Blair Lake, or hike 2.7 miles to the South Yuba River for a chillier swim. Approximately 20+ miles of hiking and biking trails offer glimpses or direct looks at the historic cliffs washed away by gold seekers in the 1800s.
We also host special events throughout the year such as the Kid’s Fishing Derby, Humbug Day, and the Labor Day Ice Cream Social. Evening Campfire Programs, guided hikes, and gold panning are offered throughout the summer.
